A new year! I like beginnings. They feel like a second chance. Of course, the downside to this is that I often become over enthusiastic. I make wild resolutions that I honestly have no chance of fulfilling. This year, I'm hoping to tame this impulse and keep my resolutions simple.
2015 New Year's Resolutions
- Lose 33 lbs. This will put me at 180 lbs by the end of the year. This is a reasonable goal. While this is not my ideal weight, it is a significant improvement from where I am starting the year (at 212.4 lbs).
- Be able to perform 5 full-body push-ups. Right now, I can barely perform 5 push-ups on my knees. I definitely cannot do any full-body ones at all.
- Transition to an 80% gluten-free diet. This basically means that all meals at home are gluten-free. However, there may be gluten consumed when I am at others' houses (if I'm there for a specific event) or at a restaurant. I will still keep the amount of gluten I eat minimal, but this way I don't have to turn down things every single time.
- Complete at least 4 Nerd Fitness challenges (out of the 6 for this year) with all A's and/or B's. This will help me accomplish the first 3 resolutions.
- Get my novel to the stage where I am having readers review it. I want to get this novel published, but I have been procrastinating like crazy. It's time to buckle down and get a readable draft finished.
- Find John a new job/help John transition to a new job. This will make John less stressed. That is important to me.
- Add at least 100 new interventions, ideas, books, etc... to my Sped website. This will help me out immesely as it will expand my database that I have to refer to when adding recommendations to reports and when working with teachers.
- Read at least 5 books that are relevant to my job. I have more than 5 books sitting on my shelves that I have yet to read. In my job, you can never stop learning or your information and interventions quickly become out of date.
- Save money to attend NASP in 2016 (including money for CE credits). This will also help me keep my skills and information up to date. In addition, CE (continuing education) credits are important because they help me keep my license.
- Play at least 10 generations of an ISBI (I'm Surrounded By Idiots) challenge in The Sims 2, and blog updates. With 9 resolutions that revolve around fitness and work, I thought it might be nice to have at least one that revolves around play! I love playign The Sims 2, and I love posting updates on my Sims. So, you all will have to endure the occasional blog post revolving around my game. I do try and write them more like a story, so hopefully that will compel some of you to actually read (and maybe even comment on) those posts!
Well, there you have it! Those are my 2015 resolutions! I will endeavor to post updates on them at fairly regular intervals. Now, lets embark on the adventure that is 2015!
